Evaluation of Residential Environment in Beijing Historic Districts under Different Reconstruction Modes
In the process of rapid urbanization, the renewal of the old cities has become the top priority of the renewal and reconstruction of historical blocks, and the most important issue is to balance the relationship between improving the living environment and protecting the history and culture. This article takes residential historical blocks in the eastern and western urban areas of Beijing as the research object, and selects three renovation blocks, namely Nanchizi,Nanluogu Lane, and Shijia Hutong to conduct a questionnaire survey on the living environment satisfaction of the residents in those districts under different modes of renewal. The survey results indicate that among the three blocks, there is little difference in residents' satisfaction between Nanchizi and Nanluogu Lane, with Nanluogu Lane having the most satisfaction, while the residents' satisfaction in the Shijia Hutong renovation case block is less than that in other blocks. Residents have much satisfaction with the safety and diversity of the block, while they have little satisfaction with the convenience of the block, indicating that residents are satisfied with the security, fire hazard treatment and food safety of the block, and are less satisfied with the convenience of daily shopping, travel and leisure. It is suggested that in the reconstruction of residential historical blocks, local residents should be the main focus, and a government-assisted,multi-party participatory approach should be adopted to add or improve the block infrastructure,so as to meet the daily life needs of people of different ages and improve the residents' sense of well-being.
