兜兰新品种‘迎春’(Paphiopedilum‘ SCBG Yingchun’)是以白旗兜兰(Paph.spicerianum)优良株系为母本,安南兜兰(Paph.villosum var.annamense)优良株系为父本,通过人工授粉杂交后选育出的.生长势旺盛;叶片狭矩圆形,近革质,绿色;花葶近直立,平均长22.7 cm,浅褐色;花朵平均横径9.4 cm,纵径8.8cm;中萼片近圆形,略俯倾,向后反卷,白色,基部绿色有细紫褐斑;花瓣条形、丝带状扭曲,绿黄色,具细小褐紫色斑,中脉紫色;唇瓣盔状,浅黄绿色带紫晕;易开花,开花期11月到翌年1月,单朵花寿命40 ~ 45 d.
‘SCBG Yingchun’ is a new cultivar of Paphiopedilum developed by crossing two excellent strains of female parent Paph.spicerianum and male parent Paph.villosum var.annamense.This cultivar is characterized by strong growth vigor.Leaf is narrow oblong and nearly leathery,the surface of leaves of the cultivar is green.The inflorescence is nearly erect and light grey,its average length is 22.7 cm,9.4 cm in average transverse diameter and 8.8 cm in vertical diameter.Middle sepal is white and near round with slightly leaning and voluming back,the green base with small purple blotches.Petals are strip-type and yellowish-green with tiny purple-brown blotches,and the middle vein is purple.Labellum is helmet type and yellow-green with purple halo.Plants are easy to bloom and the flowering period is in November to January of the following year and the lifetime of a single flower is 40 to 45 d.
