Based on the data obtained from fieldwork,this study examines the characteristics of temperature terms in SongTao Miao from the theoretical framework of temperature terms established by linguistic typology.The semantics and use scope of the basic temperature terms are analyzed from temperature evaluation and entities evaluated,and morphosyntactic and metaphorical extensions of the temperature terms are also explored.
