The monosyllabic"么"holds significance as an interrogative pronoun indicating objects in the history of Chinese.It also represents an important category within Chinese dialects.The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei-Shandong(Jing-Jin-Ji-Lu)region serves as a vital distribution area for"么"category pronouns,comprising primarily two types:"ma"and"mə".From a geolinguistic standpoint,said"么"category pronouns propagate from the northwest of Shandong Province outward,particularly towards the south and north.The diffusion pattern indicates that transportation along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal plays a pivotal role in their dissemination across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei-Shandong region.Simultaneously,the presence of dominant dialects in surrounding areas acts as a hindrance to their spread.
