Effect of PE-TLIF on Lumbar Function and long-term Degeneration in Patients with single segment Lumbar Disc Herniation accompanied by segmental Instability
Objective To explore the effects of percutaneous endoscopic transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion(PE-TLIF)on lumbar spine function and long-term degeneration in patients with single segment lumbar disc herniation and segmental instability. Methods A total of 120 patients with single segment lumbar disc herniation accompanied by segmental instability admitted to Xuchang People's Hospital from January 2020 to May 2022 were randomly divided into PE-TLIF group and control group, with 60 patients in each group. The control group patients were treated with nucleus pulposus removal surgery, while the PE-TLIF group was treated with PE-TLIF.The pain scores and lumbar functional recovery of the two groups of patients before and one month after surgery were compared.Following-up will be conducted six months after surgery to record and compare the long-term lumbar degeneration of the two groups of patients. Results One month after surgery, the visual analogue pain(VAS)scores of patients in the PE-TLIF group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).One month after surgery, the Oswestry dysfunction index and joint range of motion of patients in the PE-TLIF group were lower than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).One month after surgery, the treatment efficacy of PE-TLIF group patients was 76.67%,while the control group was 63.33%,with no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).After 3 months of surgery, the effective rate of treatment in the PE-TLIF group was 85.00%,while in the control group it was 65.00%,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).After 6 months of surgery, the effective rate of treatment in the PE-TLIF group was 95.00%,while in the control group it was 85.00%,with no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion PE-TLIF treatment can alleviate patient pain faster and enable faster recovery of lumbar spine function.
