Effect of Ultra-pulse Carbon Dioxide dot-matrix Laser combined with alternating treatment with Alpha Hydroxyl Acid on Acne Scars
Objective To observe the effect of using ultra-pulsed carbon dioxide dot-matrix laser combined with alternating alpha hydroxyl acid treatment on acne scar patients. Methods A total of 94 patients with acne scars who received treatment in the Medical Aesthetics Department of the Second People's Hospital of Puyang City from August 2018 to December 2022 were selected. They were randomly divided into control group and study group using a random number table method, with 47 patients in each group. The patients were treated with carbon dioxide dot-matrix laser or carbon dioxide dot-matrix laser combined with alternating alpha hydroxyl acid. The scar area, acne scar weight score, quality of life score, treatment effectiveness rate, and incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups were compared. Results The effective rate of treatment in the study group was higher than that in the control group, and the incidence of adverse reactions was lower than that in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05);After one course of treatment and two months of treatment, the total area and number of scars in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);The weight scores of acne scars in patients with ice cone, sedan, and rolling acne scars in the study group were lower than those in the control group after 2 months of treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);The mental, psychological, and social status scores of the study group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of ultra-pulsed carbon dioxide dot-matrix laser and alternating treatment with alpha hydroxyl acid is effective and safe in treating acne scars, and has a positive impact on improving the prognosis and quality of life of acne scar patients.
