Analysis of the One-Year Relapse Rate and Influencing Factors After Effective Acute Treatment of Bipolar Affective Disorder
Objective To investigate the one-year relapse rate and influencing factors after effective acute treatment of bipolar affective disorder. Methods A total of 122 patients diagnosed with acute bipolar affective disorder from October 2021 to March 2022 at Zhumadian Second People's Hospital were collected.A one-year follow-up was conducted after discharge, and the patients were grouped according to whether they relapsed,i.e.,the relapse group and the non-relapse group. The one-year relapse rate after effective treatment was statistically analyzed, and univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to analyze the factors influencing the relapse of acute bipolar affective disorder. Results As of March 2023,a total of one year of follow-up was conducted, and 24 patients were found to have relapsed(relapse group),with a relapse rate of 19.67%(24/122).There were 98 patients in the non-relapse group, with a non-relapse rate of 80.33%(98/122).Univariate analysis showed that the number of episodes, number of hospitalizations, residual symptoms, use of mood stabilizers, diagnostic type, work situation, drug withdrawal method, medical payment method, and attempted suicide may all be influencing factors for the relapse of acute bipolar affective disorder, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the use of a single mood stabilizer(OR=5.262),more than 2 hospitalizations(OR=1.451),self-payment for medical treatment(OR=2.813),and rapid drug withdrawal(OR=1.023)were all risk factors for the relapse of acute bipolar affective disorder, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The one-year relapse rate after effective acute treatment of bipolar affective disorder is relatively low,and its risk factors for relapse are related to the use of a single mood stabilizer, more than 2 hospitalizations,self-payment for medical treatment, and rapid drug withdrawal.
