Clinical Efficacy of Calcaneal Locking Plate in the Treatment of Comminuted Intra-articular Fractures of the Calcaneus and Its Impact on Postoperative Rehabilitation
Objective To analyze the impact of locking plate on the treatment effects and postoperative rehabilitation for comminuted calcaneal fracture patients.Methods A total of 70 comminuted calcaneal fracture patients treated from March 2020 to March 2023 in Junxian Shantang Central Health Hospital were investigated.According to random number table,patients were assigned to control group(n=35,internal fixation without locking plate)and observation group(n=35,internal fixation with locking plate).The treatment effects,rehabilitation and bone morphology indexes,and surgical complications were compared.Results The effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05);the intraoperative bleeding volume and operation time between groups were not significantly different(P＞0.05);the hospitalization and bone healing time in the observation group were significantly shorter than control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05);before treatment,there were no significant between-group differences about the bone morphology indexes like calcaneal height,calcaneal width,calcaneal cross angle and calcaneal joint angle(P＞0.05);after treatment,the calcaneal height and calcaneal joint angle for two groups were increased,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05);the calcaneal width and calcaneal cross angle for two groups were reduced,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05);but no significant differences were observed between groups(P＞0.05);the incidences of surgical complications like incisional skin edge necrosis,infections and local leakage in the observation group were significantly lower than control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion The use of calcaneal locking plate for comminuted calcaneal joint fractures has an ideal therapeutic effect,can shorten hospitalization time,promote fracture healing,and reduce the occurrence of complications.It is worth adopting.
