Influence of Gynecological Laparoscopic Surgery and Laparotomy on Fear and Hope Levels in Patients with Uterine Fibroids
Objective To analyze the influence of gynecological laparoscopic surgery and laparotomy on fear and hope levels in patients with uterine fibroids. Methods A total of 82 patients with uterine fibroids treated at Kaifeng People's Hospital from February 2021 to February 2023 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into two groups using random odd-even number drawing(patients with odd numbers were assigned to the control group, and those with even numbers were assigned to the study group),with 41 cases in each group. The control group underwent laparotomy, while the study group underwent laparoscopic surgery. The Fear of Progression Questionnaire-Short Form(FoP-Q-SF),Fear Questionnaire, and Herth Hope Index(HHI)were compared between the two groups before surgery. Results The preoperative FoP-Q-SF scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The preoperative fear questionnaire scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The preoperative HHI scores in the study group were higher than those in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with gynecological laparotomy, gynecological laparoscopic surgery is associated with relatively lower levels of fear and higher levels of hope in patients with uterine fibroids.
