Effect of Group Psychological Intervention on Elderly Patients with Type 2 Diabetes
Objective To analyze the effect of group psychological intervention on elderly patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus(T2DM).Methods 75 elderly T2DM patients who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanyang Medical College from January 2020 to January 2022 were selected.According to the random number table method, the patients were divided into a research group(38 cases)and a control group(37 cases). The control group received routine nursing intervention, and the research group received routine nursing intervention plus group psychological intervention. The negative emotions[Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)],health literacy[Health Literacy Scale for Chronic Disease Patients(HeLMS)],self-efficacy[General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES)],self-management ability[Adult Health Self-Management Ability Evaluation Scale(AHSMSRS)],and nursing satisfaction of the two groups before and after intervention were compared. Results After intervention, the SDS score and SAS score of the research group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of information acquisition ability, improvement of health willingness, communication interaction ability, and economic support willingness in the research group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the GSES score and AHSMSRS score of the research group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction of the research group(94.74%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(67.57%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Group psychological intervention for elderly T2DM patients can enhance health literacy, improve negative emotions,self-management ability,self-efficacy,and increase nursing satisfaction.
