Application Value of Stage Change Theory Oriented Extended Nursing Service in Elderly Patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation
Objective To explore the application value of extended nursing service guided by stage change theory in elderly patients with lumbar disc herniation. Methods A total of 86 cases of senile prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Henan Luohe Medical College from January 2021 to December 2022 were randomly divided into two groups,43 cases in each group, the control group adopted a conventional nursing model, the experimental group adopted extended nursing service guided by phase change theory. The compliance of rehabilitation exercise, spinal nerve function and daily living ability, lumbar function and satisfaction were examined and compared between the two groups. Results The rate of good compliance in the experimental group(97.67%)was higher than that in the control group(86.05%),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Before nursing, there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)in the Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)scores and Barthel Index between the two groups;after nursing, both groups'JOA scores and Barthel Index increased, with the experimental group being higher than the control group, showing a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Before nursing, there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)in the Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)scores of various dimensions between the two groups;after nursing, the ODI scores of various dimensions in both groups decreased, with the experimental group being lower than the control group, showing a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The satisfaction rate with nursing in the experimental group(93.02%)was higher than that in the control group(76.74%),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05)Conclusion The stages of change theory-oriented extended care services can improve the lumbar vertebral function, spinal nerve function, treatment compliance and clinical satisfaction for elderly patients with lumbar disc herniation.
