Observational Study on the Effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine Orthopedics Combined with Acupuncture in the Treatment of Patients with Cervical Spondylosis of Nerve Root Type
Objective To explore the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics combined with acupuncture in the treatment of patients with cervical spondylosis of nerve root type.Methods 72 patients with cervical spondylosis of nerve root type treated in Zhuge Town Health Center,Yibin District,Luoyang from October 2021 to October 2023 were included in the study.According to the random number table method,the selected patients were divided into a control group and an experimental group,each with 36 cases.The control group was treated with acupuncture,and the experimental group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics combined with acupuncture.The treatment effects,neck and shoulder function,traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score,cervical spine mobility,and quality of life of the two groups were observed.Results The effective rate of treatment in the experimental group(94.44%)was higher than that in the control group(77.78%),and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the Neck Disability Index(NDI)score of the patients in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group,and the scores of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)cervical spinal function and Constant-Murley shoulder joint function(CMS)were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores of each traditional Chinese medicine syndrome(limb pain,neck and shoulder pain,dizziness and nausea)in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the maximum angles of cervical flexion,extension,lateral flexion,and rotation in the experimental group were all larger than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores of each item of quality of life(physiological function,physiological role,vitality,social function,body pain,mental health,emotional role,overall health self-assessment)in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion The treatment of cervical spondylosis of nerve root type with traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics combined with acupuncture has a good effect,can improve the cervical spine function,spinal cord function and shoulder function of patients,reduce the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score,improve the symptoms of limited activity of patients,improve the quality of life,and has a good application effect in clinical practice.
