The Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in the Diagnosis of Traumatic Superficial Soft TissueInjury
Objective To study the clinical significance of musculoskeletal ultrasound in patients with traumatic superficial soft tissue injury. Methods A total of 86 suspected patients with traumatic superficial soft tissue injury registered from January 2021 to October 2023 in Yongmei Group General Hospital were chosen as research subjects. All patients underwent musculoskeletal ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).The surgical and pathological examination results were seen as the gold standard. The diagnosis outcomes and efficacy, and detection rates of different injury types were compared. Results The surgical pathological results showed a positive rate of 93.02%,86.05%of positive cases by the magnetic resonance imaging and 81.40%of positive cases by the musculoskeletal ultrasound;no significant differences were observed based on two examination modes(P>0.05);The accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of MRI examination and musculoskeletal ultrasound examination were 90.70%,91.25%,83.33%,83.72%,85.00%,and 66.67%,respectively.Compared with the diagnostic performance indicators of the two examination methods,MRI examination indicators were better, but the difference between the two was not statistically significant(P>0.05);The detection results of the two examination methods in different types of injuries showed a statistically significant difference only in meniscus injuries(P<0.05),while there was no statistically significant difference in the remaining types of injuries(P>0.05).The cost of musculoskeletal ultrasound was lower than that of MRI,and the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The detection rate and diagnostic efficiency of musculoskeletal ultrasound in traumatic superficial soft tissue injury are higher than that of other types of diseases, which is beneficial to early detection of diseases in clinical practice,it can provide reference basis for early clinical treatment. At the same time, the expense of musculoskeletal ultrasound examination is low,so it is worth to be widely used in clinical examination.
