Analysis of the Effectiveness and Safety of Non-invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation Combined with Oxygen-driven Nebulization in Patients with COPD Complicated by Respiratory Failure
Objective To explore the effectiveness and safety of Non-invasive positive pressure ventilation(NPPV)combined with oxygen-driven nebulization in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)complicated by respiratory failure. Methods 94 patients with COPD complicated by respiratory failure admitted to Zhoukou Central Hospital from February 2021 to February 2023 were selected.According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group(n=47,treated with NPPV)and the observation group(n=47,treated with NPPV combined with oxygen-driven nebulization). The treatment effectiveness, blood gas indicators, lung function indicators, inflammation factor levels, and St.George's Respiratory Questionnaire(SGRQ)scores of the two groups were compared. Results The treatment effectiveness rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The PaO2 and pH levels of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the PaCO2 level was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant. The forced vital capacity(FVC),forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1),and the ratio of forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC)of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The C-reactive protein(CRP),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and interleukin-8(IL-8)levels of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of each dimension of respiratory problems in the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of NPPV combined with oxygen-driven nebulization in patients with COPD complicated by respiratory failure has significant effects, can improve blood gas indicators, improve lung function, reduce inflammation factor levels, and improve respiratory-related problems in patients with respiratory failure.
