Application Study of Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Differentiation Nursing Combined with Goal-Setting Process-Oriented Health Education in Patients with Acute Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding
Objective To explore the application of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)syndrome differentiation nursing combined with goal-setting process-oriented health education in patients with acute Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding(UGIB).Methods A total of 100 patients with acute UGIB admitted to the Department of Hepatobiliary,Spleen and Stomach,Puyang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly stratified into the control group(n=50)and the observation group(n=50).The control group was given routine care, while the observation group was intervened with the mode of TCM syndrome differentiation nursing combined with goal-setting process-oriented health education based on the control group. The intervention lasted for 7 days, and a 2-month follow-up was conducted after discharge. The recovery and adverse event rates of the two groups were compared, and the differences in psychological status[Resilience Scale for Chinese Adults(RSA)]and quality of life[Quality of Life Index Questionnaire(QL-Index)]before and after the intervention were compared. Results The hemostasis time, first eating time, black stool turning yellow time, and average hospital stay of the observation group were all lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The adverse reaction rate of the observation group(14.00%)was lower than that of the control group(34.00%),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).After the intervention, the RSA and QL-Index scores of both groups were higher than before the intervention, and the above scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The intervention of acute UGIB patients with the mode of TCM syndrome differentiation nursing combined with goal-setting process-oriented health education can effectively shorten the recovery time of patients, improve the psychological status and quality of life of patients, and enhance safety.
