Meta-Analysis of the Effectiveness and Safety of Different Surgical Methods for Treating Labia Minora Hypertrophy
Objective To systematically evaluate the effect and safety of modified wedge resection and simple resection in the treatment of labia minora hypertrophy through meta-analysis.Methods Computer retrieval of PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,Ovid,Cochrane library English databases, and Wanfang database,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),VIP database, and China Biomedical Literature Database.By setting parameters and search words, search strategies, clinical randomized controlled studies on the above two surgical methods for the treatment of labia minora hypertrophy published from the establishment of the database to October 2023 were retrieved, and the extracted data were analyzed by Stata 16.0 software. Results A total of 5 articles were included, with a total of 421 patients. The result of the meta-analysis showed that the modified wedge resection method was significantly better than the simple resection method in terms of the rate of healing in stage I after surgery, satisfaction, scar occurrence rate, and swelling occurrence rate. Conclusion The modified wedge resection method for the treatment of labia minora hypertrophy can improve the healing rate and satisfaction after surgery, and reduce the incidence of postoperative complications in clinical applications.
