Investigation and Analysis of the Awareness of AIDS Prevention and Control Knowledge and Its Influencing Factors among Rural Residents in Dengzhou City
Objective To explore the awareness of AIDS prevention and control knowledge and its influencing factors among rural residents in Dengzhou City.Methods A stratified random sampling method was used to select a total of 276 rural residents in Dengzhou City from August 2022 to July 2023.All of them were surveyed on their awareness of AIDS prevention and control knowledge,and univariate analysis and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were conducted to clarify the influencing factors of the awareness of AIDS prevention and control knowledge.Results Among the 276 rural residents,a total of 195 rural residents were qualified in awareness,with an awareness qualification rate of 70.65%(195/276).The proportions of rural residents in the unqualified awareness group who were aged≥60 years,female,had a junior high school education level or below,were engaged in farming at home,were unmarried,had not received AIDS health education,and had no fixed sexual partner were all higher than those in the qualified awareness group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The Results of multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age≥60 years(OR=1.871),female(OR=2.324),junior high school education level or below(OR=4.557),engaged in farming at home(OR=1.569),unmarried(OR=1.530),and not having received AIDS health education(OR=5.208)were independent risk factors affecting the awareness of AIDS prevention and control knowledge among rural residents(P<0.05).Conclusion Some rural residents in Dengzhou City still lack awareness of AIDS prevention and control knowledge.Age,gender,education level,marital status,employment status,and the status of AIDS health education will all have an impact on it.Therefore,targeted intervention measures should be formulated to improve the awareness of AIDS prevention and control knowledge among rural residents.
