Study on the Efficacy of Low-Temperature Plasma Radiofrequency Ablation for Children with Tonsillar Hypertrophy and Snoring
Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of Low-Temperature Plasma Radiofrequency Ablation(LPRFA)on children with tonsillar hypertrophy and snoring. Methods The clinical data of 72 children with tonsillar hypertrophy and snoring treated in Zhengzhou Minsheng Otolaryngology Hospital from August 2021 to January 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment plans, they were divided into a control group(traditional tonsillectomy)and a research group(LPRFA),each with 36 cases, and the treatment effects of the two groups were compared. Results The effective rate of treatment in the research group(97.22%)was higher than that in the control group(77.78%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, hospital stay, and postoperative pain duration of the research group were all lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).At 3 h,6 h,and 12 h after surgery, the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores of the research group were all lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before surgery, there was no significant difference in sleep quality scores between the two groups(P>0.05);after surgery, the sleep quality score of the research group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the research group(5.56%)was lower than that in the control group(22.22%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion LPRFA treatment for children with tonsillar hypertrophy and snoring can significantly improve clinical efficacy, improve surgical indicators, alleviate body pain, regulate sleep quality, and reduce the incidence of complications, which is worth applying.
