Comparative Study on the Treatment of Acute Appendicitis with Single-Port Laparoscopic Appendectomy and Three-Port Laparoscopic Appendectomy
Objective To compare the efficacy of different laparoscopic appendectomy(LA)methods for acute appendicitis.Methods The medical records of 62 patients with acute appendicitis treated in Pingdingshan Maternal and Child Health Hospital from August 2021 to May 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.All patients were divided into a three-port group(undergoing three-port LA,n=30)and a single-port group(undergoing single-port LA,n=32)according to different surgical methods.The perioperative indicators,postoperative recovery,postoperative pain level,inflammatory factor level,and incidence of complications of the two groups were compared.Results The surgical incision of the single-port group was larger,but the total length of the surgical incision was shorter than that of the three-port group,and the operation time was longer than that of the three-port group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).There was no statistical significance in the comparison of intraoperative blood loss between the two groups(P＞0.05).There was no statistical significance in the comparison of getting out of bed,anal exhaust,and hospital stay after surgery between the two groups(P＞0.05).The wound healing time of the single-port group was shorter than that of the three-port group,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).At 3 h,6 h,12 h,and 24 h after surgery,the pain score of the single-port group was lower than that of the three-port group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).There was no statistical significance in the comparison of C-reactive protein,interleukin-6,procalcitonin level,and incidence of complications before and after surgery between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion The total length of the incision for treating acute appendicitis with single-port LA is shorter,the wound heals faster after surgery,and the pain is relatively lighter,but the operation time is also prolonged.In actual clinical application,the surgical plan can be selected according to the actual condition of the patient,maximizing the advantages of single-port and three-port LA.
