The Impact of Combined Spinal-Epidural Anesthesia and General Anesthesia on Patients Undergoing Hip Arthroplasty
Objective To compare the effects of combined spinal-epidural anesthesia(CSEA)and general anesthesia(GA)in patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty(THA).Methods 84 patients who underwent THA in the General Hospital of Yima Coal Industry Group Co.,Ltd.from June 2021 to February 2023 were selected and divided into the CSEA group(n=42,using CSEA)and the GA group(n=42,using GA)by the random number table method. The anesthesia-related indicators, cognitive function, vital signs, and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared. Results The onset time, complete block time, and anesthesia recovery time of the CSEA group were shorter than those of the GA group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The amount of anesthetic used in the CSEA group was less than that in the GA group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE)scores of the two groups decreased 24 hours after surgery compared with before surgery, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The MMSE score of the CSEA group was higher than that of the GA group after surgery, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The mean arterial pressure(MAP)and heart rate(HR)of the two groups were higher at 30 minutes after anesthesia(T1),when suturing the incision(T2),and 30 minutes after entering the anesthesia recovery room(T3)than before anesthesia(T0),and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The MAP and HR of the CSEA group at T1,T2,and T3 were lower than those of the GA group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the CSEA group(4.76%)was lower than that in the GA group(26.19%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of CSEA in patients undergoing THA can shorten the onset time, complete block time, and anesthesia recovery time, reduce the amount of anesthetic used, alleviate the damage to cognitive function, maintain stable vital signs, and reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions.
