Clinical Efficacy and Adverse Reaction Analysis of Xiaoqinglong DecoctionCombined with Acupoint Application for Children with Cough Variant Asthma
Objective To explore the clinical effects and adverse reactions of Xiaoqinglong decoction combined with acupoint application in children with cough variant asthma.Methods 82 children with cough variant asthma treated in Xinxiang Xinhua Hospital from February 2021 to February 2023 were selected and divided into a control group(conventional treatment)and an observation group(Xiaoqinglong decoction combined with acupoint application)of 41 cases each using a random number table method.The traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores,treatment effectiveness rate,airway remodeling indicators,lung function indicators,inflammation factor levels,and adverse reaction incidence rate of the two groups were compared.Results After treatment,the traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores(number of coughs,nature of cough,degree of cough,throat itchiness,shortness of breath,coughing up phlegm)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).The treatment effectiveness rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2),and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).After treatment,the forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),forced vital capacity(FVC),and peak expiratory flow rate(PEFR)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-8(IL-8),and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).The incidence rate of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).Conclusion The treatment of cough variant asthma in children with Xiaoqinglong decoction combined with acupoint application has significant effects,can improve airway remodeling,improve patient lung function,reduce inflammation factor levels,and has high safety.
