Epidemiological Investigation and Clinical Characteristics Analysis of Acute Brucellosis Patients in Jiyuan City
Objective To investigate and analyze the epidemiology and clinical characteristics of acute brucellosis in Jiyuan City,providing a reference for the prevention and control of brucellosis.Methods 305 cases of acute brucellosis in Jiyuan City from February 2020 to December 2022 were selected,and the patients'demographic data,epidemiological history of brucellosis,clinical manifestations,and epidemiological characteristics were collected and analyzed.Results Among the 305 patients with acute brucellosis,the incidence was higher in males than in females,and it was more common in people aged 41~60 years.From 2020 to 2022,the incidence of acute brucellosis showed an increasing trend,with the high-incidence period being from March to June.The high-risk population for acute brucellosis were those who had contact with animals such as sheep and cows and contaminated products,including sheep and cow breeders or those living near breeding sites,those who slaughter sheep and cows,those who process mutton products and emulsions,those who work with sheep and cow hides,and those who eat hot pot and barbecue mutton and beef.The initial onset of acute brucellosis can present with fever accompanied by chills,fatigue,and excessive sweating,similar to flu symptoms.During the acute phase,patients may experience muscle and joint pain,and some acute cases may present with hepatosplenomegaly,lymphadenopathy,and testicular pain.After treatment,symptoms such as fever and muscle soreness disappear,and pathogen tests such as liver function and routine blood tests turn negative.Conclusion In view of the increasing incidence of the disease in this region,it is necessary to strengthen the prevention and education of brucellosis,improve people's awareness of protection and health education,detect and treat the disease early,pay attention to disease diagnosis,and do a good job in the prevention and control of acute brucellosis.
