Clinical Effect of Mirena in the Treatment of Perimenopausal Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
Objective To explore the clinical effect of Mirena in the treatment of perimenopausal abnormal uterine bleeding(AUB).Methods A total of 78 patients with perimenopausal AUB admitted to Xihua County Maternal and Child Health Hospital from August 2022 to November 2023 were selected and randomly divided into the study group(n=39)and the control group(n=39)using a random number table method. The control group was treated with dydrogesterone, while the study group was treated with Mirena. The clinical efficacy, sex hormone levels, hemoglobin(Hb),endometrial thickness, menstrual duration, bleeding volume, and adverse reactions before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The treatment efficacy rate in the study group(94.87%)was higher than that in the control group(76.92%),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH),and estradiol(E2)decreased in both groups, and the levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the Hb levels increased in both groups, and the levels in the study group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the endometrial thickness decreased and the menstrual duration shortened in both groups, with the study group showing thinner endometrial thickness and shorter menstrual duration compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The pictorial blood loss assessment chart(PBAC)scores decreased in both groups after treatment, with the study group scoring lower than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the study group(2.56%)was lower than that in the control group(20.51%),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of Mirena in patients with perimenopausal AUB can improve clinical efficacy, regulate sex hormone levels, reduce endometrial thickness, shorten menstrual duration, decrease bleeding volume, and reduce adverse drug reactions.
