Application of Huoxue Shujin Decoction as an Adjunctive Treatment in Patients After Total Knee Arthroplasty
Objective To analyze the effect of Huoxue Shujin Decoction as an adjunctive treatment in patients after total knee arthroplasty.Methods A total of 82 patients who underwent total knee arthroplasty at Xin'an People's Hospital from October 2020 to October 2023 were included as research samples.They were divided into groups using a random odd-even number method.Forty-one odd-numbered patients were assigned to the control group and received conventional medication combined with postoperative rehabilitation training.The other 41 even-numbered patients were assigned to the study group and received Huoxue Shujin Decoction in addition to conventional medication and postoperative rehabilitation training.The visual analog scale(VAS)scores,knee joint swelling,incidence of deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs,and Hospital for special surgery(HSS)before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results Before treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in VAS scores between the two groups(P＞0.05).On the 5th and 14th days of treatment,the VAS scores of both groups were lower those before treatment,and the VAS scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).Before treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in knee joint swelling between the two groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,the knee joint swelling in both groups was lower than before treatment,and the knee joint swelling in the study group was lower than that in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).The incidence of deep vein thrombosis in the lower limbs in the study group(2.44%)was lower than that in the control group(14.63%),with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).Before treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in knee joint function scores between the two groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,the scores for pain,function,muscle strength,stability,and range of motion in both groups were higher than before treatment,and the HSS scores in the study group were higher than those in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).Conclusion The use of Huoxue Shujin Decoction as an adjunctive treatment after total knee arthroplasty can alleviate postoperative pain and limb swelling,prevent deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs,and promote the recovery of lower limb function.It is worth applying.
