The Impact of Empowerment Theory-Based Behavioral Change Nursing on Postoperative Chemotherapy Patients with Breast Cancer
Objective To analyze the effect of empowerment theory-based behavioral change nursing on postoperative chemotherapy patients with breast cancer. Methods A total of 86 postoperative chemotherapy patients with breast cancer treated at Xuchang City Hospital from March 2020 to May 2022 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group(receiving routine nursing measures)and an observation group(receiving empowerment theory-based behavioral change nursing on top of routine nursing measures),with 43 cases in each group. The scores of the Connor-Davidson resilience scale(CD-RISC),Social Impact Scale(SIS),and The Quality-of-Life Scale for BC(QLSBC)were observed before and after the intervention in both groups. Results Before the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in the CD-RISC scores(tenacity, optimism, strength)and total scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention, the CD-RISC scores and total scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Before the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in the SIS scores(social exclusion, social isolation, internalized shame, economic insecurity)and total scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention, the SIS scores and total scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Before the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in the QLSBC scores(physical factors, belief factors, social factors, psychological factors)and total scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention, the QLSBC scores and total scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Empowerment theory-based behavioral change nursing for postoperative chemotherapy patients with breast cancer can improve their psychological resilience, reduce disease stigma, and enhance their quality of life, making it worthy of application.
