The Impact of Video-Based Health Education on Negative Emotions and Treatment Compliance in Patients Undergoing Endoscopic Treatment for Gastrointestinal Bleeding
Objective To analyze the impact of video-based health education on negative emotions and treatment compliance in patients undergoing endoscopic treatment for gastrointestinal bleeding. Methods A total of 200 patients with gastrointestinal bleeding treated at the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from May 2020 to May 2023 were selected as research subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group(odd numbers)and a study group(even numbers),with 100 cases in each group. Both groups received endoscopic surgery. The control group received routine perioperative care, while the study group received video-based health education in addition to routine care. The negative emotion scores[Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)],Fear of Progression Questionnaire-Short Form(FoP-Q-SF)scores,treatment compliance, and satisfaction were compared between the two groups before and after nursing. Results There were no statistically significant differences in SDS and SAS scores between the two groups before nursing(P>0.05).After 3 days of nursing, the SDS and SAS scores in both groups were lower than before nursing, and the scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in FoP-Q-SF scores between the two groups before nursing(P>0.05).After 3 days of nursing, the FoP-Q-SF scores in the physical health and social family dimensions in both groups were lower than before nursing, and the scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The treatment compliance in the study group(95.00%)was higher than that in the control group(78.00%),with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction scores in the study group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Video-based health education can alleviate anxiety, depression, fear, and other negative emotions in patients undergoing endoscopic treatment for gastrointestinal bleeding, while also improving treatment compliance. It is worthy of application.
