Study on the Application of Predictive Nursing Combined with Pain Management in Radiation-Induced Oral Mucositis in Esophageal Cancer Radiotherapy
Objective To explore the application effect of predictive nursing combined with pain management in patients with radiation-induced oral mucositis caused by esophageal cancer radiotherapy. Methods A total of 86 patients with radiation-induced oral mucositis caused by esophageal cancer radiotherapy, admitted to The First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Science and Technology from April 2021 to April 2023,were selected and randomly divided into a control group(receiving routine nursing)and an observation group(receiving predictive nursing combined with pain management)with 43 cases in each group. The oral pain relief time, ulcer healing time, oral condition and pain scores, immune function indicators, psychological status, and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The oral pain relief time and ulcer healing time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).On the day of radiotherapy, the Oral Assessment Guide(OAG)scores of both groups increased, but the observation group had lower scores than the control group. After nursing, the Visual Analog Scale(VAS)scores of both groups decreased, and the observation group had lower scores than the control group.Fourteen days after radiotherapy, the Oral Mucositis Daily Questionnaire(OMDQ)scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After nursing, the levels of CD3+and CD4+in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, while the level of CD8+was significantly lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After nursing, the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05),while the nursing satisfaction was higher than that of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Predictive nursing combined with pain management can effectively alleviate oral pain, promote ulcer healing, improve immune function, enhance psychological status, and increase nursing satisfaction in patients with radiation-induced oral mucositis caused by esophageal cancer radiotherapy.
