The Impact of Jiedu Shugan Decoction Combined with Ginger Moxibustion on Elderly Patients with Liver Cancer Undergoing Interventional Therapy
Objective To explore the short-term efficacy of Jiedu Shugan Decoction combined with ginger moxibustion on elderly patients with liver cancer undergoing interventional therapy and its effects on vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),interleukin-8(IL-8),and platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF).Methods A total of 74 patients with primary liver cancer of liver depression and spleen deficiency type who underwent interventional therapy in our hospital from February 2020 to February 2023 were selected. They were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table method:the control group(routine hydration, liver protection, and antiemetic therapy)and the observation group(routine hydration, liver protection, and antiemetic therapy combined with Jiedu Shugan Decoction and ginger moxibustion),with 37 cases in each group. The improvement time of clinical symptoms(fever, vomiting, liver pain, abdominal distension, jaundice),TCM syndrome scores, liver function[alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),direct bilirubin(DBIL),total bilirubin(TBIL)],inflammatory factors[interleukin-8(IL-8),interleukin-1(IL-1),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)],vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF),and basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)were compared between the two groups. Results The improvement time of fever, vomiting, liver pain, abdominal distension, and jaundice in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the main symptoms, secondary symptoms, and total scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of ALT,AST,DBIL,and TBIL in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of IL-8,IL-1,and TNF-α in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of VEGF,PDGF,and bFGF in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of Jiedu Shugan Decoction combined with ginger moxibustion on the basis of routine hydration, liver protection, and antiemetic therapy has a significant effect on elderly patients with liver cancer undergoing interventional therapy. It can improve liver function and vascular endothelial function, reduce the levels of inflammatory factors,VEGF,PDGF,and bFGF.
