The Value of Manual Massage Combined with Functional Training in the Rehabilitation Nursing of Stroke Patients with Dysphagia
Objective To explore the value of manual massage combined with functional training in the rehabilitation nursing of stroke patients with dysphagia. Methods Eighty-six stroke patients with dysphagia admitted to The First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2021 to February 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a control group(functional training)and an observation group(manual massage combined with functional training),with 43 cases in each group. The treatment efficacy, scores of swallowing function assessment scale(SSA),Videofluoroscopic Swallowing Study(VFSS),Modified Barthel Index(MBI),nutritional status, serological indicators, and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results The treatment efficacy in the observation group(95.35%)was higher than that in the control group(69.77%),with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After the intervention,SSA scores decreased, and MBI and VFSS scores increased in both groups;the SSA scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the MBI and VFSS scores were higher, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After the intervention, the levels of total protein(TP),albumin(ALB),prealbumin(PA),total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG),and hemoglobin(HB)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After the intervention, the levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF),nerve growth factor(NGF),and insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group(6.98%)was lower than that in the control group(27.91%),with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Manual massage combined with functional training in stroke patients with dysphagia has significant therapeutic effects, upregulates neurotrophic factors, improves dysphagia and nutritional status, promotes patient feeding, and enhances quality of life.
