Clinical Efficacy Study of Laparoscopic Myomectomy for Uterine Fibroids
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of laparoscopic myomectomy in the treatment of uterine fibroids. Methods A total of 60 patients with uterine fibroids treated at Xinyang People's Hospital from June 2020 to June 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group underwent conventional open surgery, while the observation group received laparoscopic myomectomy.Clinical indicators, endocrine indicators, inflammatory factors, pain stress indicators, psychological status, quality of life, and complications were compared between the two groups. Results The observation group had significantly shorter operation times, intraoperative blood loss, time to ambulate, and time to pass gas compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Three days post-operation,the levels of follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)and luteinizing hormone(LH)increased while estradiol(E2)levels decreased in both groups. The observation group had higher FSH and LH levels and lower E2 levels than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Three days post-operation,levels of interleukin-6(IL-6),C-reactive protein(CRP),and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)increased in both groups, but the observation group had lower IL-6,CRP,and TNF-α levels compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Additionally,cortisol(Cor)levels decreased and prostaglandin E2(PGE2)levels increased in both groups three days post-operation,with the observation group showing lower PGE2 and Cor levels than the control group(P<0.05).After 6 months, both groups showed improvement in scores on the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and the Short Form Health Survey(SF-36),with the observation group performing better than the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of complications was lower in the observation group compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Laparoscopic myomectomy can reduce inflammatory responses, alleviate pain, decrease the occurrence of complications, improve endocrine levels and psychological status, enhance quality of life, and promote recovery in patients.
