Clinical Application of Prefabricated Fiber Posts in Oral Rehabilitation
Objective To explore the clinical treatment effects of using prefabricated fiber posts in oral rehabilitation. Methods A total of 68 patients who underwent oral rehabilitation at Zhoukou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2022 to June 2024 were selected. They were randomly divided into two groups, each consisting of 34 patients. The control group received treatment with plastic fiber posts, while the study group received treatment with prefabricated fiber posts. The clinical treatment outcomes, chewing function indicators(bite force, chewing efficiency),periodontal health indicators[plaque index(PLI),probing depth(PD),bleeding index(BI),and mobility],and complications(tooth mobility, fracture, periodontal infection)were compared between the two groups. Results The treatment efficacy rate in the study group(97.06%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(82.35%)the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no significant differences in chewing function indicators between the two groups(P>0.05);however,after treatment, the study group had higher bite force and chewing efficiency compared to the control group the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Pre-treatment comparisons of PLI,BI,PD,and mobility showed no significant differences(P>0.05);post-treatment,the study group had significantly lower PLI,BI,PD,and mobility compared to the control group(P<0.05).After one year, the incidence of complications in the study group(2.94%)was lower than that in the control group(17.65%)the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of prefabricated fiber posts in oral rehabilitation demonstrates significant effectiveness, enhancing chewing function and bonding strength while providing excellent aesthetic results and reducing complications, making it a worthwhile approach for clinical application.
