Clinical Application Analysis of Ultrasound-Guided Polidocanol Sclerotherapy for Vascular Malformations in the Oral and Maxillofacial-Cervical Regions
Objective To analyze the clinical effects of ultrasound-guided polidocanol sclerotherapy for vascular malformations in the oral and maxillofacial-cervical regions. Methods A total of 62 patients with oral and maxillofacial-cervical vascular malformations treated at Zhoukou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from October 2021 to October 2023 were selected.Patients were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 31 patients in each group. The control group received intervention treatment with bleomycin, while the observation group underwent intervention treatment with polidocanol. The number of treatment sessions, amount of sclerosant used, postoperative pain levels, aesthetic satisfaction, treatment efficacy, inflammatory factors, maximum diameter of the lesion cavity, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the maximum diameter of the lesion cavity, postoperative pain scores, and amount of sclerosant used in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The treatment efficacy rate in the observation group(93.55%)was higher than that in the control group(74.19%),and aesthetic satisfaction(90.32%)was also higher in the observation group compared to the control group(67.74%)with significant differences(P<0.05).The levels of inflammatory factors in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, showing statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group(12.90%)was lower than that in the control group(35.48%),with significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared to bleomycin,ultrasound-guided polidocanol sclerotherapy is more effective in treating vascular malformations in the oral and maxillofacial-cervical regions. This method not only enhances treatment outcomes but also reduces the amount of sclerosant used, alleviates postoperative pain, lowers postoperative inflammation levels, and increases patient satisfaction with aesthetics.
