Effects of Shengpuhuang Decoction Combined with Xiexin Decoction on Patients with Diabetic Retinopathy
Objective To observe the effects of Shengpuhuang Decoction combined with Xiexin Decoction on patients with diabetic retinopathy and to explore its value in improving the condition and ensuring safety. Methods A total of 120 patients diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy from December 2021 to February 2024 at Anyang Regional Hospital were included as study subjects. They were randomly assigned to different treatment groups.Sixty patients receiving Western medicine were designated as the control group, while sixty patients receiving Western medicine combined with Shengpuhuang Decoction and Xiexin Decoction were designated as the observation group. The differences in visual function, retinal hemodynamics, and adverse reaction events between the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the best-corrected visual acuity, retinal thickness(macular area),retinal electroretinogram oscillatory potentials, and the area of retinal hemorrhage in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The observation group also had lower central venous return velocity and resistance index, while showing higher end-diastolic flow velocity, peak systolic flow velocity, and average blood flow velocity compared to the control group, with all differences being statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups during treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion The implementation of a combined treatment plan using Shengpuhuang Decoction and Xiexin Decoction alongside Western medicine for patients with diabetic retinopathy can improve visual function, adjust hemodynamic indicators, and does not increase the risk of medication. This treatment aligns with clinical expectations and needs.
