Clinical Study on the Treatment of Pediatric Eczema with Traditional Chinese Medicine Fumigation Method Combined with Moisturizing Cream
Objective To observe the clinical effects of treating pediatric eczema(damp-heat infiltration type)with a combination of traditional Chinese medicine Fumigation Method and moisturizing cream. Methods A total of 72 pediatric patients with eczema admitted to The First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2023 to February 2024 were selected for the study.Based on the principles of randomized controlled trials, they were divided into two groups:the traditional Chinese medicine Fumigation combined with moisturizing cream group(36 cases)and the Western medicine control group(36 cases). The scores of various symptoms, clinical efficacy, relapse rates, and safety were statistically analyzed before and after treatment. Results Before treatment, the differences in skin itching severity, lesion severity(erythema),exudation degree, papules and vesicles, dryness, and lesion area between the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05).After treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine Fumigation combined with moisturizing cream group had significantly lower scores for skin itching severity, lesion severity(erythema),exudation degree, papules and vesicles, dryness, and lesion area compared to the Western medicine control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The traditional Chinese medicine Fumigation combined with moisturizing cream group showed superior clinical efficacy rates, lower relapse rates, and higher safety compared to the Western medicine control group, all with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of traditional Chinese medicine Fumigation and moisturizing cream is an effective treatment for pediatric eczema, with a lower relapse rate and higher safety.
