Effect of Grid-based Centralized Management on Regional Sterilization Supply Centers in Public Hospitals
Objective To investigate the clinical effects of grid-based centralized management in regional sterilization supply centers of public hospitals. Methods From June 2023 to February 2024,a localized network system was established for regional sterilization supply centers, involving 10 medical institutions within the jurisdiction(Nanyang High-tech Zone Hospital,Eighth People's Hospital of Nanyang,Nanyang Wancheng Traumatology and Microsurgery Hospital,Nanyang Wanhua Hospital,Nanyang Wenhe Orthopedic Hospital,Nanyang Wolong Hospital,Nanyang Wolong Yuanhe Hospital,Nanyang Eye and Vision Hospital,Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanyang Medical College, and Third Affiliated Hospital of Nanyang Medical College).A sampling method was employed to investigate 360 reusable instruments and items, and 220 sterilization packs before and after the implementation. The qualified rates of the entire process of instrument handling, total workload of staff at various positions, and satisfaction of medical staff were analyzed and compared. Results After implementing grid-based centralized management, the qualified rates of various stages in the disinfection process were significantly higher than before(P<0.05).The satisfaction rate post-implementation(96.67%)was higher than that before(84.17%),with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Work efficiency indicators were also significantly higher after implementation compared to before(P<0.05).Additionally,costs were lower after implementing centralized management compared to before, which was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The adoption of a grid-based centralized management model in regional sterilization supply centers can effectively enhance the quality of disinfected supplies, improve work efficiency, reduce costs, and achieve resource sharing and quality traceability objectives.
