Life Table and Spectral Analysis of Larix principis-rupprechtii Populations in the Pangquangou Nature Reserve
The static life table of Larix principis-rupprechtii populations in the Pangquangou Nature Reserve was compiled based on the population life table and theory of survival analysis using the age class structure represented by DBH class and smoothing out technique. The survival rate curve, the mortality rate curve, vanishing rate curve and survival function curve were determined, and population dynamics were analyzed by spectral analysis. The results showed:(1)There were abundant matured, but few young individuals, while the age structure of L.principis-rupprechtii populations was stable;(2)Two peaks of mortality rate and vanishing rate existed in the lifespan:One in the 11-and 12~(th) age class periods and the other in the 15~(th),and the survival curve of the populations was Deevey type Ⅱ;(3)Four survival functional curves showed that the L.principisrupprechtii populations grew stably at young stage, decreased very quickly at mature stage and declined at old stage.(4)The natural regeneration process of the L.principis-rupprechtii populations could be represented by the fluctuation of the distribution of the number of trees in different age classes.Spectral analysis of the populations showed that there was a marked periodic fluctuation in the process of natural regeneration. Moreover, minor periodic changes could also be found in 7~(th) and 15~(th) age classes.
