Simulation and Experiment of the Static Characteristics of the SP08-20 Pilot-operated Screw-in Proportional Directional Valve
The SP08-20 is a pilot-operated,threaded cartridge proportional directional valve for directional control. The valve is used as a check valve when power is off and as a throttle valve when power is on.The flow control of the valve is achieved by controlling the change in position of the pilot spool and the main spool. This valve flow channel shape is more complex, the control cavity pressure distribution law is difficult to determine, and the traditional empirical formula of hydrodynamic force and flow itself is less accurate, resulting in the mathematical model composed of empirical formula to solve the static characteristics of the valve, the model calculation results and experimental results have a large difference. Therefore,Fluent software is used to simulate the flow field of SP08-20 to obtain the force law of its spool, using the curve fitting method to obtain the spool force fitting formula, according to which the static mathematical model is solved to solve the static characteristics of this valve. The test results show that the static characteristic curve obtained by using the flow field simulation has a high degree of agreement with the test curve.
