Simulation and Experimental on High-precision Venturi Regulator Flow Characteristics
As a core component of the flow control system, the Venturi regulator has a decisive impact on the system's control accuracy and stability. The flow characteristics of the Venturi regulator were investigated. The envelope method was used to optimize the design of the spool contour. The design was validated through CFD simulation and experiment. The results indicate that the paraboloid-shaped spool can achieve a linear variation between the flow area of the regulator and the spool displacement.Under the operating condition with an inlet-to-outlet pressure ratio of 0.5,both the CFD simulation and the water-medium flow characteristic experiment of the regulator have validated the high linearity of the displacement-flow curve. These results further demonstrate the accuracy and effectiveness of the paraboloid-shaped spool design.Simultaneously,in conjunction with the visualization experiment figures, the significant fluctuations in the flow coefficient curve when the spool displacement is relatively small are due to the change in cavitation flow status.
