Dual Perspectives in Construing Xi Jinping's Promoting the Party's Theoretical Innovation in the New Era
Innovation is an inexhaustible driving force for the development and progress of a coun-try and a nation.It is the precious inherent quality and a consistent glorious tradition of the Com-munist Party of China to attach great importance to promoting the theoretical development of the Party with the spirit of innovation.Over the past ten years,Xi Jinping,with his strong histori-cal,theoretical,practical consciousness and the initiative,has united and led a new generation of Chinese Communists to advance the Party's theories with the times,thus forming the Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,which is the contemporary Chinese Marxism and the 21st century Marxism,and opening a new horizon for adapting Marxism to Chi-na and the times.Two perspectives can be observed in his promoting the Party's theoretical inno-vation:the value perspective of his seeking happiness for the people,seeking rejuvenation for the nation and making contributions to the world,and the practice perspective of judging and answer-ing the questions of the times,emphasizing publicity and grasping the broad masses,and stress-ing and constructing publicity discourse.In the present background of the thematic study of Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and of disseminating and implementing the guidelines put forward at the Twentieth National Congress of the Party,it is of great significance to achieve profound understanding,from the above two perspectives,of the distinctive features of Xi Jinping's promoting the Party's theoretical innovation for a new era.
