Evolutionary Logic of Marx's Thought on Citizenship
Marx rarely elaborated on the concept and theory of citizenship directly,but his mate-rialist view of history contained the thought on citizenship:an individual develops from an urban resident to a citizen,from a citizen of a bourgeois country to that of a proletarian state,and to a world citizen up through to a free man.Herein lies the evolutionary logic:from the positive stage of criticizing feudal hierarchical privileges and acknowledging the progressive nature of bourgeois citizenship to the negative stage of exposing the hypocrisy of bourgeois citizenship and calling for the struggle for proletarian citizenship through revolution,and then to the double-negation stage of promoting the universal development of productive forces and communication and boosting the generation and evolution of world citizens and free individuals.It outlines the trajectory of human liberation from the perspective of citizenship development,elucidates the Marxist worldview and methodology of the negation law of social development negation,and reflects the unity of logic and history.
