Construction of Evaluation System of Humanities and Social Sciences in China Referring to International Experience
The inadequacy of the academic evaluation system restricts the development and pros-perity of humanities and social sciences in China. An insight is offered for improving our evalua-tion system of humanities and social sciences by referring to the practice in the United States, the United Kingdom and New Zealand. The international experience includes building up a complete legal system, setting up multidimensional evaluating criteria, formulating a strict rule of selecting review experts, establishing a working mode with reviewers cooperating with and balancing each other, boosting institutionalized evaluation and supervision system, emphasizing the dynamic per-formance management of the evaluation institutions, and constructing a strong data analysis support system.Accordingly,China's evaluation system needs improvement in its system of laws and regulations, evaluation index system, structure of review experts, supervision over the evaluation, database construction and information system.
