Experiment on damping characteristics of dual-motor coupled energy-harvesting shock damper
In order to study the damping characteristics of the energy-harvesting damper under dif-ferent operating conditions,a dual-motor type energy-harvesting damper is designed. Two half-wave mechanical rectifiers are utilized to capture the bi-directional motion of the damper respective-ly.Five electromechanical coupling modes are proposed to investigate the effects of the circuit cou-pling between two motors on the damping characteristics.A bench test platform is built to analyze the damping characteristics of five kinds of electromechanical coupling modes under different excita-tion frequencies, excitation amplitudes and load resistances. The results show that among the five electromechanical coupling methods, the output force curve of the parallel-connected energy-feeding damper is more stable than that of the other three methods, and the damping characteristic is better than that of the independent external connection and series connection, which can effectively im-prove the energy utilization efficiency.
