This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of L-tryptophan on intestinal digestion and immune function of early weaned piglets.Thirty-six newborn healthy piglets with similar birth time and parity were rando mLy divided into early weaning group, normal weaning group and tryptophan group.Early weaning group:piglets were weaned at 14 days of age;Normal weaning group:piglets were weaned at 35 days of age;Tryptophan treatment group:piglets were treated with L-tryptophan solution by gavage every day after weaning at 14 days of age;Piglets were euthanized at 35 days of age,and serum, jejunal tissue, jejunal mucosa and intestinal digesta were collected to measure the activities of digestive enzymes in jejunal mucosa and SIgA in intestinal digesta. The results showed that:tryptophan could increase the activities of intestinal digestive enzymes;Tryptophan can promote the level of SIgA in intestinal digesta.Addition of tryptophan can effectively enhance the digestive and immune functions of the intestine.
