For modern sheep industry,high-quality breeding rams should be utilized to crossbreed and improve local breeding ewes.To finish this idea,it is important for the accuracy and difficulty of estrus identification of breeding ewes.The most commonly methods for estrus identification in breeding ewes are external observation and male sheep estrus testing.These methods require much manpower and time,and cannot detect ewe estrus anytime and anywhere,which cause to often miss the optimal breeding time.These methods will bring many difficulties to the breeding and improvement of sheep flock.To solve the problem of reproductive ewe estrus testing,we summarized the ways and methods of reproductive ewe estrus testing,and innovated the techniques of via deferens ligation and penis transfer according to many years of work experience.
