Breeding and Development of Wulanchabu Fine Wool Sheep
Wulanqab fine wool sheep is the only livestock breeding breed in Wulanqab city in the 1990s,and is listed in the national livestock breed genetic catalog.At present,the number of basic ewes of fine wool sheep in Ulanqab City is only more than 600,and the excellent breed has been on the brink of extinction.In order to prevent the genetic extinction of this excellent breed,the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has assigned Ulanqab City to conserve the genetic material of Ulanqab fine wool sheep.The project selected male and female sheep with characteristics and characteristics of Ulanqab fine wool sheep,healthy and disease-free,produced 3 000 doses of frozen semen and 200 frozen embryos,and stored them in the national gene bank.The implementation of this project has saved the genetic gene of the only fine wool sheep breed in Wulanqab City,contributing to the revitalization of the city's livestock and poultry seed industry and the enrichment of breed resources in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
