Establishment and Application of Real-Time PCR for Detection of Feline Blood Type
The AB blood type system in feline is composed of three blood types:A,B and AB.Mismatches may result in acute hemolytic transfusion reactions and neonatal isoerythrolysis.According to the principle of TaqMan probe fluorescence quantitative analysis.four sites of the feline blood type determining gene,cytidine-phospho-N-acetylneuraminic acid hydroxylase(CMAH)gene, were aligned, and the corresponding primers and probes were designed to establish a real-time PCR detection method for feline blood type. The real-time PCR method for feline blood type detection established in this study was 100%consistent with the results of Alvedia rapid-test(LabTest A+B).In addition.in the 269 feline samples collected in Beijing and surrounding areas, the proportions of A,B and AB blood type were 94.05%,5.58%and 0.37%,respectively.
