Effect of Chinese Herbal Medicine Additives on Performance of Fattening Mutton Sheep
In order to study the effect of Chinese herbal medicine additive on the performance of fattening mutton sheep, the optimal additive dosage was screened and popularized. In this experiment,40 small-tailed Han sheep of 90 days old were randomly divided into control group(Group A),low-dose additive group(Group B),middle-dose additive group(Group C)and high-dose additive group(Group D),the final weight, weight gain, average daily weight gain, average daily feed intake and feed-to-meat ratio were measured and compared. The results showed that there was no significant difference between Group B and Group A in final weight, weight gain, average daily weight gain, average daily feed intake,feed-to-meat ratio(P>0.05),but compared with Group C and Group D,the difference was significant(P<0.05),and the feed-to-meat ratio of Group C was the lowest. The results showed that adding a certain amount of Chinese herbal medicine additive to feed was beneficial to gain weight, reduce feed to meat ratio and increase breeding benefit. The recommended dosage was 0.6%.
