Drug Susceptible and Bacteriostatic Tests of Two Strains of Bacillus Subtilis of Yak Origin
Two yak-derived Bacillus subtilis strains were subjected to a drug susceptible y test for 10 antimicrobial drugs and an inhibition test for three pathogenic bacteria. The results showed that BS-1 strain was moderately sensitive to ceftriaxone, streptomycin and cotrimoxazole in the drug susceptible test, and BS-2 strain was moderately sensitive to ceftriaxone, and both strains were highly sensitive to kanamycin, chloramphenicol, norfloxacin, amikacin, ciprofloxacin, gentamicin, and ofloxacin;and in bacteriostatic test BS-1 and BS-2 had certain bacteriostatic activity on Escherichia coli,Salmonella, and Staphylococcus aureus. But the bacteriostatic activity of BS-2 is relatively stronger, and it has the potential of being developed into a probiotic preparation.
