PCR Detection and Sequence Analysis of VP2 Gene of Leukopenia Panacea in Cats from Shangqiu,He'nan Province
Feline leukopenia(FP)is an acute, highly contagious disease caused by feline parvovirus(FPV).To understand the genetic variation of FPV in Shangqiu,18 suspected FPV samples were collected from two pet hospitals in the city, and 14 positive samples were obtained by DNA extraction and PCR specific detection, the structural protein 2(VP2)gene of parvovirus was amplified by PCR,sequenced and analyzed by phylogenetic analysis. The results showed that 12 of the 14 positive samples were closely related to the Chinese FPV(G1)MF541135 strain and had the highest homology with the reference strain FPV(G1)MF541135.All the 12 positive samples belonged to G1type.The other two strains,FPV-SQ-09 and FPV-SQ-12,were closely related to the reference strain CPV(MW182708).The genetic tree showed that all of the FPV G1 types originated from China, and most of the VP2 genes in the study had characteristics of Asian origin. This paper provides a theoretical basis for the study of the transmission of FPV in Shangqiu and the prevention and control of pet diseases.
