Research on Breeding Techniques for Excellent Yak Breeds based on Molecular Genetics
Yaks,as mammals living in the world's highest altitude areas, play an irreplaceable economic and ecological role in areas above 3000 m,such as the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, due to their unique advantages of cold and drought resistance, strong adaptability, and high reproductive capacity. This study comprehensively evaluates the genetic resources of yaks and accurately identifies excellent traits through molecular genetic techniques such as genotype sequencing, genome selection, and gene editing.By analyzing the current research status and breeding significance of molecular genetics on yaks, corresponding breeding strategies are proposed with the aim of breeding yak varieties that are more adaptable to high-altitude environments, have higher nutritional value, and better economic traits, further enhancing the ecological and economic value of yaks as"high-altitude boats".
